A Reverend was acquitted
in a trial held by the Presbyterian church. Her charge was marrying same-sex couples.
Rev. Jane Adams Spahr of San Rafael was tried by the Presbytery of the Redwoods -- encompassing Napa, Sonoma, Marin, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino and part of Solano counties -- for marrying two lesbian couples in August 2004 and May 2005.
Spahr, who acknowledged conducting the ceremonies and others like them, was acquitted by a jury made up of seven Presbyterian elders and pastors. The vote was 6-1.
I’m glad that this church is standing up for what is right. 10 humanity points go to the Presbytery of the Redwoods
